The Skate Free or Die All-Stars team name pays homage to the original New Hampshire Roller Derby league name, the Skate Free or Die Rollergirls. Roller derby made a come-back in 2001 and in July of 2007 it had made its way to New Hampshire. Allison Trela (later known as Dee Stortion) and her friend, Rachel Hapenney (later known as Dementia a Gogo) thought it would be cool to start a roller derby league just for fun. Little did they know it would grow into the state's largest league. They came up with the name The Skate Free or Die Rollergirls playing with New Hampshire's state slogan, "Live free or die". By 2009 the league played its first full-length season and due to its growth more teams needed to be added. Thus New Hampshire Roller Derby became the league name and the Skate Free or Die All-Stars became the A-team to honor to the original league name. On June 17, 2010 New Hampshire Roller Derby's Skate Free or Die All-Stars were officially added into the WFTDA (Womens Flat Track Roller Derby Association). New Hampshire Roller Derby was now able to play and be ranked on the national level with Roller Derby leagues around the country. Year Formed: 2007 Recognition: Past Opponents:
